"Hypocritical, egotistical. Don't wanna be the parenthetical, hypothetical, working onto something that I'm proud of, out of the box. An epoxy to the world and the vision we've lost. I'm an apostrophe. I'm just a symbol to remind you that there's more to see. I'm just a product of the system, a catastrophe. And yet a masterpiece, and yet I'm half-diseased and when I am deceased. At least I go down to the grave and die happily leave the body of my soul to be a part of me. Whatever it takes! 'Cause I love the adrenaline in my veins!"

Hello, I'm Michele! I'd like to say that I have my life completely together and I'm in my dream career and climbing mountains and trail running is just something I do on the side...but really it's the other way around. Being outdoors, on the beauty of the trails and the views of the mountains, is currently the only real passion I am absolutely sure about.

I have never been good at sports but always really enjoyed trying new things. Before I discovered running, I was a Roller Derby girl (actually where the moniker @missshellshock came from) but quickly realized that the aggressive and competitive nature of the sport was not for me. I started road running after being inspired to sign up for a marathon at the age of 27; never having been a runner, or even having done anything longer than fun 5k obstacle course races. After two marathons and a few years of road running, I still wouldn't say that I truly loved running but I definitely appreciated the outlet for stress and the challenges it provided. It wasn't until I tried my first mountain trail run that I really became hooked. Funnily enough, it was by making friends with ambassador @halfpint22 that I even knew that mountain trail running existed. Since then, I've moved from Seattle to Colorado and havebeen sucked into the whirlwind of trying anything and everything that I find challenging and/or will bring me to a new and beautiful place. I did my first 50k and my first 50 miler, all within a year, and am currently working on gaining more and more mountain experience by tackling all of the gorgeous and amazing 14ers that Colorado has to offer.

I'm sincerely amazed by all of the friends I have met by immersing myself in this sport and by all of the things I am constantly learning every day that I spend outside. I will never be an expert on anything and am constantly making a fool of myself, and I'm absolutely OK with that.  I am very happy to officially be a part of the Choose Mountains family, as Tiare's company truly represents what it is to simply love the outdoors, no matter what your experience, expertise or endurance is. Sharing my story and adventures with others is something that I really enjoy because I was inspired by others into discovering the mountains and I love when I can spread that love and passion to other people as well. I look forward to sharing my adventures with you and hopefully having you join in on some of them!
