“Hiking is a bit like life: The journey only requires you to put one foot in front of the other…again and again and again. And if you allow yourself the opportunity to be present throughout the entirety of the trek, you will witness beauty every step of the way, not just at the summit” -Unknown
My name is Sasha Washut, and I live in Washington State- The beautiful Pacific Nortthwest. I am a huge outdoor enthusiast, so you can find me outside on the weekends! I love hiking, skiing, mountain biking, running, and doing yoga. If I could be outdoors all day, every day, I totally would. Monday-Friday you can find me at my desk job. I work as a Family Services Coordinator for a school district (so yes, I am lucky enough to get summers off!!). I work with families struggling financially, foster care students, and students/families experiencing homelessness. I absolutely love my job and being about to help others through tough times. My job definitely makes me appreciate my life, and all of my blessings.
I Choose Mountains because I love how they challenge me physically, mentally, and emotionally. The mountains are truly my happy place!! I also love that because of the mountains, I have met some pretty incredible people who have become friends and hiking buddies! All thanks to social media and hiking groups :) I also have a Chocolate Lab named Finn who I absolutely ADORE! He is my adventure buddy, and I am definitely one of those proud dog moms!!!
