“Mountains are not Stadiums where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, they are the cathedrals where I practice my religion.”

― Anatoli Boukreev

Greetings to my fellow adventurers! My name is Stuke Sowle and I am a recent transplant to the fantastic state of Washington, though I have spent almost my entire life in the Pacific Northwest. I might be a little long in the tooth, which would make for a dull story, so I will keep it short. After an over 20 year hiatus, I found myself wandering back into the mountains three years ago. Almost instantly I felt like I had discovered a purpose in life, to crush old paradigms that I had learned so many years ago. To prove to myself that there really are absolutely no limits to what I can accomplish when I draw inspiration from nature and the mountains that I surround myself with.

Now days you will find me sauntering, running, scrambling, playing air guitar and even dancing in the mountains every chance I get.

But I believe what I cherish most about this journey are the times that I get a message that starts with, “Stuke, you have inspired me to…” This is why I am so honored to be a part of this team. It gives me more opportunity to share my love of the mountains with so many.

Gratitude to Tiare Vincent for not only having the courage to start Choose Mountains, but for believing enough in what I do to make me a part of the team.
